Mai Privacy Policy

Learning data

Mai stores your saved words, review schedules, progress, onboarding answers and reminder preferences on your device. Mai has no account, adds no advertising or developer analytics service, and does not send your learning data to a developer-operated server. YouTube may show ads in its player.

Purchases

Apple processes Mai Pro payments and subscriptions. Mai uses StoreKit to check purchase entitlement and introductory-offer eligibility. The developer does not receive your payment-card details. Apple's privacy policy governs information Apple processes.

YouTube video lessons

Mai uses YouTube API Services. Opening a lesson shows its transcript. The embedded player connects to YouTube only after you choose “Load YouTube video”. Mai uses YouTube's Privacy Enhanced Mode and temporary web storage. Google may still receive your IP address, device/browser information and video interactions under the Google Privacy Policy. YouTube says views in this mode do not personalise your YouTube browsing or advertising outside the app, and any ads shown in the player are not personalised. Each new lesson asks before loading its player.

Mai does not download YouTube video or audio for offline use. Video lessons require internet access and are subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.

App settings

When a settings address is configured, Mai checks it at launch for withdrawn videos and the current subscription requirement. This request reveals normal network information, including your IP address, to the hosting provider. Mai does not include your saved words, review history or purchase details in the request.

Notifications

Study and trial reminders are local notifications. You choose whether to allow them and can change that choice in iOS Settings. Notifications are optional.

Backups and deletion

Your device backup may include Mai's local data, depending on your Apple backup settings. Removing the app deletes its local data; any backups remain subject to your backup settings. Removing Mai does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account.

Support and websites

If you contact support, information you choose to send is used to respond and handle related follow-up. Correspondence is retained for that purpose and any necessary records; you can contact support to request its deletion. Do not send passwords or payment-card details.

Opening this website involves its hosting provider, which may process normal access information such as your IP address and browser details. These pages contain no analytics script, advertising or contact form.
